Uniform and PE Kit Requirements
In order to allow children to express themselves, our school uniform is deliberately not split along gender lines.
Here are direct links to Fetterangus uniforms at PomPrint Designs and Buchan Embroidery.
Pupils in our school are expected to wear a uniform made up from the following items to school:
EITHER a red or blue gingham dress with white or grey socks or blue, red, or grey tights;
OR dark grey or black trousers, shorts, dress, or skirt with white or grey socks or blue or grey tights;
White polo shirt (with or without school logo) or plain, coloured polo shirt with school logo;
Blue or Turquoise jumper, cardigan, sweatshirt, or hoodie with school logo; and
Sensible, flat, sturdy black shoes
Pupils, parents, and staff were involved in choosing the current dress code, and the items have been selected so that pupils clearly identify with the school.
Please also consider the changeable nature of weather conditions and provide your child with appropriate outerwear and footwear to suit.
Jewellery
Children are permitted to wear jewellery at school, however, our school cannot be held responsible for the loss or damage of any watches or jewellery. Our general rule of thumb is: if you would be upset if it gets lost or broken, do not take/wear it to school.
PE Kit consists of:
Indoors:
Shorts
T-shirt (not football shirt)
Suitable shoes
Pupils wearing tights should make sure they bring socks
All to be kept in a gym bag
Outdoors:
We often do PE at the Hilly, and therefore ask that weather appropriate outdoor clothing and shoes are included.
Jewellery: With regard to safety, the wearing of jewellery is not permitted during PE lessons. If your child has pierced ears, please ensure they can remove and replace earrings by themselves. Any child wearing earrings that cannot do this will be asked to put surgical tape over them for PE lessons.
Parents should note their responsibility to ensure all clothing and belongings brought to school are named or marked in some way, as it is difficult for children to distinguish their own clothing from that of others.
